Cathleen Lewis & Rex Lewis-Clack
A unique story & phenomenal journey as told by mother and son

Cathleen's son Rex is 13-years old and was first profiled by CBS's "60 Minutes" when he was 8-years old in a segment called "Musically Speaking." The piece began with a description of Rex. "He was born with an array of problems so extreme it looked as though he might never walk, talk, or do much of anything. And yet he has a talent the rest of us can only dream of..." Rex has a rare gift for music and counts as one of a handful of musical savants in the world. When he sits down at the piano, it feels like an electric current hitting the room. Rex has a rare joy that defies his disability, a laugh that lights up a room and piano music that makes us all believe that anything is possible. The mystery surrounding Rex's unique "savant" gift led "60 Minutes" back to film a follow-up segment when Rex turned 10 called simply "Rex." Clips from these two well-received profiles can be viewed at the following link: http://60minutes.yahoo.com/segment/91/rex. CBS currently has the beginnings of a third profile in the works. Rex has also been the subject of numerous documentaries worldwide featuring his musical gift, including Britain's popular series "Extraordinary People," a Swedish documentary called "Another Kind of Genius," and "Musical Savants" on The Discovery Health Channel.
Cathleen tells audiences that Rex rewrites his own story every year, defying logic and expectations. He was the 2006 recipient of the "Winspiration" Award in Germany, an award given to an exceptional person, who has taken the hand he's been dealt in life and has used it not only to win, but to inspire others to win as well. Cathleen has documented her son's story of winning against a backdrop of severe disability and challenge in her memoir Rex, to be published by Thomas Nelson Publishing House in 2008. The book weaves together music, science, and the triumph of the human spirit.
Cathleen and Rex have brought their unique blend of spoken message and music to diverse select groups around the world. We are fortunate to be able to have this rare opportunity to experience Rex's musical talent as he perfroms during this presentation.
